Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Techne (“Techne”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in connection with Techne, a tool that helps you prepare, review, and publish video to social media pages and channels you own or manage — including Facebook Pages via the Meta Platform.
Techne is operated by you, for your own accounts. We only access a connected account when you explicitly authorize it, and only to perform the actions you request.
Information we collect
When you connect a Facebook account and Page(s), Meta provides us with:
- Basic account information — your Facebook name and user ID, used to identify the connected account.
- Page information — the list of Facebook Pages you manage, their Page IDs and names, and the Page access tokens needed to publish on your behalf.
- Publishing permissions — the permissions you grant (for example, to show your list of Pages and to manage and publish Page content).
We also handle the media you prepare with Techne — the videos, cover images, captions, and metadata you choose to publish.
How your data is processed (local-first)
Techne is local-first. Preparing your video runs on your own device. Access tokens and the media you prepare are stored locally on the machine running Techne. We transmit data to Meta only when you publish, and only what is necessary to complete that action.
How we use information
- To authenticate your connected accounts.
- To publish or schedule the videos, covers, and captions you approve to the Facebook Pages and other channels you authorize.
- To operate, maintain, and improve Techne.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use Meta data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the publishing functionality you requested.
Data sharing
We share data with Meta/Facebook only as needed to publish content to your authorized Pages. Content generation runs locally on your device. We do not otherwise share your information, except where required by law.
Data retention
Access tokens and generated content are retained locally only for as long as you keep them on your device or keep the account connected. When you disconnect an account or delete the content, the associated data is removed.
Data deletion
You can revoke Techne’s access and delete the data it holds at any time:
- Revoke access from Facebook: go to Facebook Settings & Privacy → Settings → Security → Business Integrations (or Apps and Websites), select Techne, and remove it. This invalidates the access tokens granted to Techne.
- Delete locally stored data: remove the Techne data directory on your device to delete stored tokens and generated content.
- Request deletion from us: email techne@zonin.dev with the subject “Data Deletion” and we will delete any associated data we hold and confirm once complete.
Compliance with the Meta Platform
Our use and transfer of information received from Meta APIs adheres to the Meta Platform Terms and Developer Policies, including any applicable Limited Use requirements.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect data. Because Techne runs on your own device, you are responsible for securing that device and the local data directory.
Children’s privacy
Techne is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
